2023 has been a year filled with many accomplishments throughout the company. As we reflect on the past 12 months, we are delighted to share our top 5 moments that made this past year a memorable one. From successful campaigns and award nominations to innovative solutions, we look forward to building upon the success of 2023 in 2024.
Green Award Nomination.
Our team was thrilled to be nominated in the category of Green Medium-Sized Organisation at the 2023 Green Awards in association with Bord Na Móna, acknowledging our efforts. Throughout 2023 we carried out the following objectives to continue strengthening our environmental performance.
- Educating employees on our environmental efforts on a monthly basis.
- Limiting paper usage in any instance possible.
- Reducing energy consumption by 5%.
- Implementing extensive energy usage guidelines for office and remote working.
- Engaging with a Green Consultant to gain a more comprehensive understanding of our current environmental performance.
CSR: Charity Donations.
In 2023, we donated to various Irish Charities. Star Rescue, a Limerick-based dog rescue charity visited our offices in August along with some of their rescue dogs. Our Client Development Manager, Katherine Sutton has a very strong relationship with this charity and often volunteers with the charity in her own free time. We presented them with a cheque of €1,500 and a selection of food and toys for the animals in their care. A donation to Pieta was also given to support their #GoAmber campaign where they were raising funds for their organisation. We supported Cork Counselling Services with support for their annual Fashion Show and €600 was provided from our Christmas Party where staff donated €10. As a company, we believe in the power of collective efforts to create meaningful change and conversations, and we are proud to support organisations that align with our values.
CCMA 2023 Nomination and award:
This year, Arema Connect was nominated in 2 categories in the Irish Customer Contact Management Association (CCMA) 2023
- Best Customer Experience in Public, Voluntary and Non-Profit Sector.
- Customer/Shared Service Centre of the Year Medium.
We were delighted to be recognised in two big categories. Our team members headed up to the RDS (Royal Dublin Society) in Dublin. Two members from Pieta also joined our team on the special night. Pieta is an Irish Charity that supports people struggling with mental health and families affected by suicide. We have been partnered with them since 2019 and have supported their supporters with Multi-Channel solutions. We were delighted to have our work with Pieta recognised at the CCMA awards. On the night, we were presented with a ‘Highly Commended’ award for our partnership with Pieta. Our team is delighted with this achievement and it is another stepping stone to strengthening the relationship between Arema Connect and our clients based in the charity sector.
Psyched Workplace seminar
To continue our work with the ‘Pysched Workplace’ Initiative, we attended their seminar titled, ´Thriving Minds: Nurturing Mental Wellness in the Workplace’ at the Silver Springs Events Hall. The event provided attendees with valuable insights into the ways both employers and employees can incorporate mental well-being or happiness initiatives into their daily work lives. Some of the initiatives that Arema Connect have in place currently include the following:
- Implementing work-life balance initiatives to support employee wellbeing such as the hybrid working model.
- Monthly newsletter for internal updates, this is to ensure constant communication is maintained with the entire team by keeping them up to date with monthly news.
- Providing opportunities for career development and growth to keep employees motivated and invested in their roles – Progression opportunities including promotions to management and team leader positions and a comprehensive training program.
- Team Lunches.
- Staff parties during the summer and winter periods.
- Charity days in the office.
ISO Recertifications:
Arema Connect are delighted to be re-certified in ISO 14001:2015, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 27001:2013.
- With the ISO 14001:2025, this international standard has enabled us to put procedures in place to help us protect and care for the environment. We intend to continue to use this ISO to continue managing our environmental responsibilities in a systematic manner that contributes to the environmental pillar of sustainability.
- The IS0 9001:2015 certification has played a pivotal role in how quality is managed and enhanced across each of our processes. Our Quality Assurance Manager, Simon Cheasty, has greatly developed our Quality Management System (QMS) by implementing several quality monitoring processes in line with industry best practices.
- Finally, our ISO 27001:2013 certification has allowed us to identify potential risks and put several controls in place to manage these effectively across both our systems and data management. Since obtaining the certification we have implemented several security policies including Information Communication Technology (ICT), Encryption and Data Protection which have formed part of our information security measures across the organisation.
And there you have it, our top 5 moments from 2023. We hope that you have a happy and peaceful Christmas and New Year and we would like to extend our best wishes to all of our clients and suppliers. We would like to express our gratitude to our team for their unwavering dedication and hard work throughout 2023 and we look forward to working together in the New Year!
