Klarna and Afterplay work with many different brands to provide BNPL options to customers. Of course, this trend prompts shoppers to buy instantly rather than waiting for payday or a chance to raid their savings account. This payment solution also allows consumers to try before they buy while not feeling as ‘guilty’ about the purchase. Some online retailers rocking this trend include H&M, DFS & ASOS. However, some eCommerce trailblazers such as Amazon are still not following this trend. 

 

  • Influencer opinions – According to Hubspot, 30% of consumers now report influencer recommendations are one of the most important factors in their purchasing decisions, compared to 27% for recommendations from friends or family.   • Social Media influenced shopping  – More and more shoppers are being guided to view and purchase products and services through social media platforms. Forrester reported that 38% of shoppers in the United States are buying through a Social Media Platform every month. Tik Tok is skyrocketing the sales of several products stemming from the much-loved product reviews. In fact, TikTok is amplifying the make-up market, so much so that it’s now being referred to as BeautyTok. Reports show that products have gotten over 1 million views in less than a week of being introduced.
