Arema Connect are delighted to be certified with the ISO 14001:2015. This international  standard has enabled us to put procedures in place to help us protect and care for the environment. After being shortlisted in the Green Awards 2020 in the category of Medium Sized Organisation of the Year, receiving the 14001 certification became our next green pursuit. We intend to use ISO 14001:2015  to manage our environmental responsibilities in a systematic manner that contributes to the environmental pillar of sustainability. Arema Connect is also 9001:2015 certified for Quality Management and 27001:2013 certified for Information Security Management.

Back in June we introduced a Green Suggestions Box where our team were given the opportunity to share their ideas on ways to make Arema Connect more environmentally friendly. These ideas helped us to come up with goals for the next 12 month, which include:

  • Introduction of a green training programme for our team
  • Limiting paper usage
  • Introduce a composting bin initiative.
  • Reduction in energy consumption by 5%.

To further support our goals we have nominated an Environmental Management Representative team (Katie Murphy, Rachel Caulified, Millie Cooper) to support and oversee our efforts to date. It has been extremely rewarding for the whole team to see a reduction in paper usage and electricity consumption over the last number of months. Since rolling out our Green Training Programme we have seen an increase in recycling and more sustainable behaviors within our 4 office spaces. It is testament to the face that small changes can make a difference.

‘We are delighted to receive the ISO 14001 Certification. It has been fantastic to see the whole team getting on board with suggestions to help in the fight against climate change. This is a very important issue at the moment and we are happy to be able to make small changes that make a big difference. Over next 12 months we will continuously look for new ways to become more environmentally friendly.’ – Pat Keogh, Managing Director, Arema Connect

‘Within the Arema Team we collectively suggest potential changes that impact our carbon footprint in a positive manner. Receiving the ISO 14001 Certification has illuminated that reducing our environmental impact is crucial for us as individuals and as an organisation. We are thrilled to have received this certification and we are looking forward to increasing our sustainability over the coming months and years.Millie Cooper Marketing Executive and Environmental Management Representative

We would like to thank our team for all their hard work over the last number of months in helping us achieve our 14001 Certification and we look forward to coming up with new ways to help protect the environment.
