Last Monday, as part of Mental Health Awareness week, our team members Lisa Cronin and Bernie O’Dwyer attended a PSYCHED (Positive Support You Can Have Every Day) Workshop in Oriel House, Ballincollig, hosted by Cork Healthy Cities.
The aim of the PSYCHED initiative is:
- To stimulate conversations in the workplace that lead to better understanding of mental health.
- To encourage employers to engage with staff to promote and foster mental health in the workplace by setting goals for positive improvement.
- To celebrate and share commitment, good practice and innovation in mental health promotion in the workplace.
To find out more about the PSYCHED initiative, you can view a video here which also features a testimonial from our Managing Director, Pat Keogh.
In May, Arema Connect was accredited for the second year in a row with a certificate of recognition for our ongoing commitment to creating and promoting Mental Health wellbeing in our workplace. We strive to provide our employees with a supportive working environment and a culture where positive mental health behaviours are encouraged.
Lisa and Bernie have been sharing some of their many lesson learnt from the workshop with the rest of the Arema Connect team, and we are looking forward to continuing with our PSYCHED efforts. Cork Mental Health & Wellbeing Fest is taking place from 5th – 19th of October and as part of the Festival, our team are upping efforts with a range of activities to promote wellness, including highlighting the importance of connecting with the people around them, being active by taking a walk during lunchtime and helping others by doing something nice.
The PSYCHED initiative plays a key role in our Employee Engagement Strategy, which aims to create a happier working environment, reduce staff turnover and reduce stress in our workplace. We’re proud to be an accredited PSYCHED supporter.
