Celebration Night

Last weekend we held our annual staff excellence awards night! The event was to celebrate and appreciate our employees’ professional achievements for the 2017 – 2018 period. The importance of a recognition focused environment shows our appreciation to our employees, and boost their morale and performance. Not only it is a way to say thank you to our Staff, but it also encourages employee participation and a great team bonding event.

Event

Our annual awards conducted at Cashman’s in Cork on the 23rd March was once again a night of celebration. The awards night was to celebrate our employees’ service in recognition of their performance and valued contribution. The evening was opened by a drinks reception, followed by the main event. It comprised of a table quiz, internal awards and food ceremony.

Table Quiz

Our Master of Ceremonies – managing director, Pat Keogh- welcomed the participants and introduced them to the quiz night. Pat and Katie conducted the challenging pub quiz to date with many rounds ranging from General Knowledge, Pop Culture and even a history round about Arema Connect.

A total of 8 teams took part in the quiz. Teams included, The 3 Amigos, Quizimodo, Straight outta Quizton. For a second year in a row our Winning team, Never Trust an Atom they Make up Everything, was composed by Nuala, Michaela and Dan. The winners were thrilled to win the much sought after and coveted ‘Quiz winner’ trophy presented by our management team Katherine, Sarah and Pat.

Awards

After the quiz ceremony, our 2017-2018 awards were presented to the winners. This year awards were created and nominated by both management and staff through two key criteria:

  • Specific behaviours: Bespoke awards – given to several aspects and metrics achieved by the employees, such as meeting KPIs
  • Peer to Peer: Through employee engagement, staff can recognize and nominate each other, this allows for each staff member to value each other.

This year participation was outstanding. A remarkable number of agents were nominated by their colleagues in three distinct categories. Awards such as The Work BestieSpirit of Service Award, The Invincible going to Michaela, Gillian and Loretto respectively. Additionally, awards for best attendance were presented to Beata, Ciara and Michaela by our Managing Board. The final awards of the night gave a nod to those with long-standing service contribution. These were presented to Kelley and Kieran who account for a combined 25 years of service in our Contact Centre.

Importance of Awards

Everyone likes to feel appreciated. Our internal contact centre awards help to show the recognition towards our staff. When staff feel valued – in-turn retention of staff and employee satisfaction also improves.

Better engagement means better productivity –

It was a thrilling evening of celebration to the excellent work and culture that goes on here at Arema Connect. I would like to thank those who pulled off the event and to Cashman’s for the Venue.

A huge bualadh bos to all our team being short listed and congratulations to all!
