Last night Our Managing Director Pat Keogh and Marketing Coordinator Silvia Planella received a Certificate of Recognition to acknowledge the activities to date in promoting well-being in the workplace. The certificate was presented by The Lord Mayor of Cork Tony Fitzpatrick & Cork County Council.
Activities…
The PSYCHED Award scheme is to encourage well-being in the workplace, and it is aimed at making Cork a Mental Health Promoting City. Arema Connect held a variety of activities to promote well-being in our workplace including:
- Internal Awards
- Christmas jumper day
- Alzheimer`s Tea Day
- Employees nights outs
- Kris Kringle
- Donation of a Christmas Tree
Without a doubt, these activities greatly contribute to reducing stress among our staff. In turn, this greatly increases productivity in our workplace.
The Event…
The Event took place in City Hall. Following a brief drinks reception, everyone was seated. Lord Mayor Tony Fitzpatrick congratulated all participants for their efforts.
“As we spend one third of our day at work it would make sense that we would want to encourage and recognize workplaces that support the positive well-being of their staff. Through PSYCHED we want to stimulate conversations leading to a better understanding of mental health. While celebrating the commitment, good practice and innovation in workplaces across Cork”-Lord Mayor Tony Fitzpatrick
There were 37 businesses across Cork city and county awarded with Certificates of recognition. This is great to see as it is a much needed, proactive approach to mental health. Following the Award Ceremony there light refreshments and opportunities to network with our fellow Cork Businesses.
Words from our Managing Director Pat Keogh…
“We are aware that the call centre environment has specific challenges in the area of well being and employee satisfaction. That’s why our 2015-2020 employee satisfaction plan includes the development and implementation of strategies for keeping our team at the forefront of our thoughts. We’ve been trading since 2001 and have built a reputation for having a staff retention rate that is much higher than the industry average. On average our team stays with us for over four years and this impacts on the level of service delivered to our clients. We have developed a partnership approach with our clients and every member of our team is valued and vital to our companies long term success. To receive this Certificate of Recognition from The Lord Mayor of Cork, Tony Fitzgerald, is a great honor” – Pat Keogh, Managing Director
We are looking forward to displaying our PSYCHED certificate of recognition proudly in the office. A huge well done to all involved.
